Meet Your Therapist
My name is Johannah, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and EMDR Certified therapist. I specialize in working with adults living with the impact of trauma, including complex PTSD, dissociation, chronic anxiety, childhood and sexual abuse, childhood neglect, and recent traumatic experiences. I also have a passion for supporting clients healing from religious trauma and relational abuse, while providing affirming care for LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent clients.
I believe therapy is about more than just symptom reduction. It can be a space to better understand yourself, reconnect with parts of yourself that have been carrying pain for a long time, and begin building a life that feels safer, more grounded, and more authentic. In our work together, I draw from EMDR, parts work, mindfulness, and acceptance-based approaches to support healing in a way that feels collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your needs.
As a therapist, I value authenticity, curiosity, and creating a space that feels genuinely human. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my dogs, playing Pokémon Go, watching reality TV and horror movies, and slowing down with quiet, cozy hobbies. I strive to create a space where you don’t have to perform, explain everything perfectly, or carry things alone. Whether you’re navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship difficulties, or feeling stuck in painful patterns, my hope is that therapy feels supportive, safe, and grounded enough for meaningful change to happen at your own pace.
“The most beautiful and profound way to change yourself is to accept yourself completely.”
